Parting Up ("we," "us," or "our") is a general partnership operating a peer-to-peer online marketplace for agricultural parts and equipment. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have regarding your data.
By registering for an account, you provide affirmative consent to the collection and use of your information as described in this Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

We use Google Ads to display advertisements on the Platform and to promote the Platform on other sites. Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our Platform or other websites, subject to Google's own privacy policy and advertising data practices. Information included in your listings and public profile — such as your name, business name, general location, and listing photos — is visible to other users of the Platform. Messages you send through the Platform are visible to the recipient.
We share information with trusted third-party vendors who assist in operating the Platform, including:

If Parting Up is acquired, reorganized into a new legal entity, or transfers substantially all of its assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change via email or Platform notice.

Information you include in a listing — including photos, descriptions, pricing, and any contact details you voluntarily add — is publicly visible. Exercise caution about what personal information you include in listings or public-facing content. Parting Up is not responsible for how other users use publicly visible information.
The Platform's in-platform messaging system allows users to communicate directly with each other. While we take reasonable measures to secure these communications, messages are not end-to-end encrypted. Parting Up may access message content for the purposes of investigating abuse, fraud, or violations of our Terms of Service.
Do not share sensitive personal information (such as financial account numbers or passwords) through the Platform's messaging system.
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services and comply with legal obligations. Specifically:

We implement commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These include encrypted data transmission (HTTPS) and access controls.
No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to notify us immediately of any suspected unauthorized account access.

Categories of personal information we collect include: identifiers (name, email, phone, IP address); commercial information (listing activity); internet or electronic network activity (usage data); and geolocation data (general location from IP address).

Data Breach Notification: In the event of a data breach that poses a real risk of significant harm to individuals, Parting Up will notify affected users and, where required, the applicable privacy commissioner (Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada and/or the Commission d'accès à l'information for Quebec users) as required by PIPEDA and applicable provincial law.

The Platform is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a person under 18, we will take steps to delete it promptly. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact us at privacy@partingup.com.
The Platform may contain links to third-party websites or services. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised Policy with an updated "Last Updated" date. For material changes, we will provide at least 30 days' notice via email or prominent Platform notice prior to the changes taking effect. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy.
